Hotboii has had another run-in with the law, this time being arrested in Doral, Florida on trespassing and firearm charges.
According to police documents reviewed by TMZ, the 25-year-old Orlando rapper was arrested this week for allegedly being caught with a firearm after trespassing on school property.
Hotboii (real name Javarri Latre Walker) was taken into custody around 4 a.m. on Wednesday (July 9) when officers responded to a call about two “suspicious males” running in the parking lot of a K-8 charter school.
The City of Doral Police Department claimed Hotboii jumped a fence on the campus’ south end and was caught on surveillance footage throwing a black Carhartt bag over a fence connected to an upscale community. Officers claimed that a Glock 45 9mm handgun was found inside said bag.
He was charged with firearm possession by a convicted felon and trespassing on school property with a firearm.
According to XXL, the incident marked Hotboii’s fourth or fifth arrest over the past seven years. He was arrested for gun possession in 2018 but was never prosecuted. He was arrested two more times a couple of years later. The first arrest was for firearm possession, weed possession and resisting an officer, while the second arrest was, once again, for firearm possession.
Hotboii found himself back behind bars in the summer of 2021 when he was hit with gang-related RICO charges. His attorney, Lyle Mazin, told the Orlando Sentinel that Hotboii’s RICO case was based on two offenses: One was gun possession and the other was “using electronic communication to promote gangs and possession of a firearm by a convicted delinquent.”
Prosecutors claimed the latter charge stemmed from Hotboii’s Instagram activity, as he allegedly posted about guns and shared lyrics about gang life.
Hotboii ultimately secured a plea deal in which pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge. He was released from jail after serving more than two years.
As pointed out by XXL, Orlando police reportedly took Hotboii into custody back in February, but the details of his detainment and possible arrest have not been confirmed.
