Atlanta Police arrest Lil Woody, known as Kenneth Copeland, for reckless stunt driving and other charges in a June 22 street takeover incident.

ATLANTA — Atlanta rapper Lil Woody is now facing reckless driving charges after a recent crackdown on street racing.

The rapper, whose legal name is Kenneth Copeland, first gained popularity following his testimonies in the YSL RICO trial. He is one of several people mentioned in the Atlanta Police Department’s street racing arrests. Copeland is charged with reckless stunt driving, “laying drags” or driving in circular courses and driving on the wrong side of the road amongst several other charges.

On June 22, investigators with APD’s Homeland Security unit were notified about a video of Copeland in a white Dodge Challenger driving in zig-zag and circular motions at the intersection of Whitehall Street SW and McDaniel Street SW.

According to arrest warrants, the video shows Copeland making a right turn at a red light around vehicles on the wrong side of the road. While making this turn, he accelerated the Dodge Challenger to burn the rubber underneath the tires and create a cloud of smoke. Once he returned to the correct side of the street, Copeland began to do donuts.

Following the street racing scene, Copeland pulled into a nearby shopping center at the same intersection.

Copeland was released from Atlanta City Detention Center on July 3.
