Dallas rapper Yella Beezy dropped a faith-infused single, “My Head,” on Tuesday morning, marking his first music release since being arrested and charged with capital murder last month.
A snippet of an accompanying music video was posted to his Instagram.
The new song begins with a gospel message: “Silence the noise in my mind Lord / Cause I want to hear you,” a sample of producer Blame It on Monstah’s track “Silence the Noise.”
Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies Deandre Conway, is accused of orchestrating the death of fellow Dallas rapper Melvin Noble, known as MO3.
Court documents say Conway hired a hitman, Kewon Dontrell White, to kill Noble, who was fatally gunned down in broad daylight on Interstate 35E on Nov. 11, 2020. White was indicted on a murder charge in 2021. He is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence on a gun charge.
Conway, who is out on bail and under house arrest, alluded to mental distress in his new song, which includes lyrics about being “trapped in the thoughts” in his head.
“It’s just me and myself in these f—ing four walls,” he also said.
Conway and Noble allegedly feuded over the years, lobbing diss tracks and insults at each other on social media, although both denied any conflict.
A 2019 interview between Conway and blog page VladTV has resurfaced amid the murder charge. When asked about Noble, Conway said he did not know who the man was.
No trial date has been announced for Conway.
