SUMNER CO., Tenn. (WSMV) – The arrest of rapper David “Young Buck” Brown brought protesters to the Sumner County Courthouse Wednesday morning.
Brown is currently serving a 30-day sentence for violating his bond supervision at least six different times, according to the Sumner County District’s Attorney Office.
His bond agreement steams from a 2020 incident where he was charged with domestic assault, vandalism and possession of weapon, following an incident with his then girlfriend.
“I’m fighting for a person that I know is a father, that’s more than an image. I don’t like the image that the public use with our public figures, so I’m trying to do whatever steps I can take to move forward,” a supporter of the rapper told WSMV4.

Court records show that his former girlfriend allegedly shot at him and was charged with reckless endangerment. Supporters of the former G-Unit artist believe the charges against him are unjust.
“He is a victim, in a situation, where he was leaving a relationship where he was the sole provider for, and the female discharged a firearm,” protest organizer Brooke Harlan explained. “Our next call to action in this movement is change the game and get these corrupt officials out.”
Young Buck is scheduled to have bond hearing on May 7, and is also set to go trial for the 2020 incident on July 24, according to the District Attorney’s office.
